Who is Habiba &
What is the School of Spice?

habiba chowdhury

Hi, my name is Habiba Chowdhury and welcome to my School of Spice.

After moving to Cheshire from London, Habiba Chowdhury, a British Bangladeshi woman on a mission, founded My Curry Club and travelled throughout Cheshire, sharing her considerable knowledge of spices and how to cook with them alongside people in their own homes. She was so successful, she decided to open up a Cookery School right in the heart of Cheshire so people could come to her. My Curry Club Cookery School opened in 2019.

Despite the limitations and restrictions of Covid 19, the school and its reputation grew and in 2021 Habiba rebranded to become Habiba’s School of Spice. She now has a team of dedicated people who believe in Habiba’s philosophy which is all about the spices – Sight, Sounds & Smell as much as she does.

A Note From Habiba

I don’t cook refined restaurant food, I teach you how to cook the way my mother taught me; with love and patience, for the home and the family.

In my school you will learn how to cook from the off! An immersive experience into the sights, sounds and smells of spice! All the techniques from an authentic Indian kitchen are on offer with the opportunity to create something truly delicious and for you to feel confident in your new found skills and palate to try out lots of new creations in your own home”

Emma’s skills are wide and varied; from being Copy Editor at The Northwich Guardian to helping run the BBC’s go-to etiquette expert and ex-Granada Newsreader Diana Mather’s manic schedule to playing and performing with ‘Conundrums’ Northwich’s own Djembe African drum circle – although we’re not quite sure how we can make use of that, but you never know!
